Our aim is to support the community by providing services that are professional, caring, responsive and inclusive.
This is for children aged 2 to 5 years and has a staff ratio of 1 staff to 4 children for 2 year olds and 1 to 8 for older children.
We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 12pm during term time.
There is a large dedicated Pre-School room with toilet facilities and small kitchen and direct access to an enclosed safe and secure patio play area. The room is setup as an area for more messy play such as painting and sticking, and an area for quieter play with a mark making table, a maths and construction area, quiet corner with books, a computer and home corner. The children are able to move freely throughout all parts of the pre-school enabling them to explore and enhance their all round development.
Each child has a coat peg and a spare clothes bag. The children are encouraged to develop a certain level of independence: going to the toilet by themselves, hand washing, serving their own snack and learning to put on their coats and shoes.
We follow The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) principles. This creates a flexible approach to care and learning for all children under five years old.
The EYFS is used in our daily planning and evaluation of learning activities and the service that we provide. We also use the areas of learning and development to observe and assess each individual child as follows:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
Children’s learning and development throughout the EYFS is recorded in their own scrap book, which contains photographs, creative work and observations of their ‘Learning Journey’ at pre-school as well as sharing with parents and carers all the fun things they have enjoyed doing.
Staff are appropriately trained and as an employer we are committed to their continued development and training.
We are registered and inspected by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). Registration No: EY316075
